Mt. Pleasant is in a strategic location. It is a major retail corridor and transportation hub to and from Shaker Heights and other suburban communities. Various studies show that Mt. Pleasant has potential for high end retail businesses because of its high population density and the large number of homeowners provides a more stable base than other communities with larger numbers of rental properties. Mt. Pleasant also has a real capacity for legitimate entrepreneurship because of the existence of long-standing social, fraternal and religious organizations.
